Miles Hodges is a New York poet and performer. Born in 1990, he lives in Harlem and was the first Artist in Residence at the New York Public Library. Hodges' poetry is oral and urban, and described as ‘slamming.' Hodges' texts are nourished by the richness of his intercultural background, and beat to the intense and syncopated rhythm of life. His words hit, flap, slam and bang together, and their vibrations create emotion. He plays with moments of spiritual anguish and integrates them into his dreamlike style. His performances fill halls across the United States, the United Kingdom, South Africa, and India with passionate and fascinated audiences.
